We welcomed our second baby boy, Davis Beau, on August 22nd, 2015 and are so in love! I wanted to finally share a few photos of his nursery ... definitely one of my favorite rooms in our house. I'll post a few pictures from his newborn photo shoot later this week but catch up with me in the meantime on Instagram under @nsguidetostyle. XOXO
I recently packed up my new diaper bag with all the newborn essentials and thought it'd be helpful for new moms to see what I included! Since this isn't a traditional diaper bag, I ordered a custom organizer insert from Samorga and a One Truffle Clarity Pouch for diaper products to keep everything in place. With Hudson I learned that you really don't need that much - a helpful tip is to leave a change of clothes, extra diapers + wipes and some bottled water in your car so you don't have to keep them in the diaper bag as well [and because you'd most likely have your car near by if you are out]. Any day now and our second baby boy will be here, we are so excited! XOXO
I turned 29 on the 23rd of July and finished up some celebrating this past weekend with my girlfriends ... saving my bday date with the hubby for after baby boy's arrival! On my actual day I woke up to a sweet breakfast made by my boys and then had lunch at Freds at Barney's and did a little shopping. On Saturday, I went to breakfast with my besties at my favorite, Joan's On Third, which was such a treat! Hope you had a great weekend ... a What's In My Diaper Bag post coming up this week along with a little review of the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis. XOXO
This past weekend I got to celebrate baby boy a second time with some of my best friends at a tea party shower at The Langham [where we got married], it was such a treat and so much fun to spend time a relaxing afternoon together! Currently 35 1/2 weeks pregnant and tomorrow I turn 29 [eek last year before the big 3-0!] - can't believe our little guy will be here in a month or less! XOXO
TGIF! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened up to the public today, just in time for some weekend shopping! I picked up some new Nike Flyknits and am hoping to go back and look at some of the other items before the sale ends August 3rd [I saw these Rag + Bone booties that'd be great for Fall!]. Shop all the deals here or check out some more of my picks below ... Have a great weekend! XOXO
Happy Monday! I ran out of pretty much all of my beauty products this past month [seems like it always happens all at once!] and picked up these replacements, some old + some new - reviews below! Don't forgot to browse the Nordstrom Anniversary sale if you haven't already, see all my picks from Friday's post here. XOXO
Tom Ford Eye Quad in Nude Dip: This is my first time trying his eyeshadow but I've read many rave reviews for the consistency and pigmentation of this quads. I picked this palette because it looked easy to wear but was also tempted by the Cocoa Mirage colors.
Dry Bar Detox Dry Shampoo: I've bought this dry shampoo multiple times - it is great at making blow outs last and adds a lot of volume. I also use it in place of hairspray when I curl my hair.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask: This has an interesting jelly like consistency but was I was really impressed with the results from the sample I had - I've been loving all the products I've bought from her line so far.
Tom Ford Lip Shine in Nubile: Unfortunately this ended up being a little browner than I would have liked but I think it would love great on someone with a tan or darker hair. Hoping with a lip gloss on top I can make it work!
Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence: This spray is super refreshing and has a great scent, I also love that it's full of antioxidants and is all natural. I use it after washing my face before putting on sunscreen and serums for the day and before my lotion at night time.
Nordstrom's best deals and exclusives of the year, the Anniversary Sale, started yesterday, July 9th, for all Nordstrom card holders and will be available for everyone else to shop on July 17th. Either way, you can check out all the goodies that are available for grabs here or take a peek at my favorite picks pictured above. A few items from yesterday's Baby: Baby Gear PIcks post are included in the sale as well! XOXO
As follow up to my Baby: Diaper Bag Alternatives + Baby: Diaper Bag Essentials posts, here are a few of my favorite baby gear picks that I either used with Hudson or plan to use with Baby Boy #2 in just a few weeks! We really loved our Bugaboo Bee Stroller the first time around so we decided to go with their Donkey Double Stroller so that both boys would have a place to sit - I love that it can be used in single mode as well [and has a nice storage basket to attach when doing so]. I always rave about Freshly Picked Moccasins - they were especially great for when Hudson was learning how to walk because of their soft soles. We are also big fans of Maxi-Cosi for car seats - we have used both the infant and convertible seats and love their safety features. Feel free to share any of you must have essentials in the comments, I'd love to hear your favorites! XOXO
Hudson's Swim Outfit: Janie & Jack; The Dude Hat: Crew Cuts | Hudson's Second Outfit: Janie & Jack; Shoes: Vans | Pom Pom Beach Tote: Mar Y Sol
We took our annual Labor Day Santa Barbara trip a little early this year because of baby boy's impending arrival and celebrated 4th of July up at Bacara this past Friday through Sunday. Hudson had a blast walking around the property, looking at the boats + ocean and especially loved playing in their pool and sand area! We also got left the hotel twice for some yummy treats at Freebird's in Isla Vista and McConnell's Ice Cream & Yogurt Shop on Mission. So nice to get away and make some memories as a family of three before our new addition makes his debut! Hope you had a great 4th! XOXO
As a spin off of from yesterday's post, I thought it'd be fun to share some of my favorite diaper bag essentials that I used with Hudson and plan to use again along with new items I'm going to try this time around - reviews below!
The Honest Company Products: We use all of their products exclusively for Hudson [we get their diaper bundle service which is delivered once a month] and besides what is pictured we also love their sunscreen, bath products and cleaning supplies. My favorite item is probably their Organic Healing Ointment - we use it on everything from dry skin to bug bites to diaper rashes to scratches.
WubbaNub Pacifiers: Not only are the attached animals adorable but they also help keep the pacifiers in place, especially in the early months. We also liked Avent for pacifiers [and they are easier to clean than the Wubbanubs].
Sophie The Giraffe: Every baby needs a Sophie! They are great from early on as a chew toy and noise maker - a plus is they can be wiped cleaned and easily washed. We also loved their teether.
Swaddle Blanket: I found Aden + Anais blankets to be the best brand for swaddling and the great thing is they can also be used for a bunch of other reason including as a burp rag and car seat cover to shield baby from stray hands. I love how soft their Bamboo blankets are but they tend to snag - the regular cotton are a lot more durable so they would be my suggestion. We are also going to try some swaddles from Modern Burlap - they are organic and I'm obsessed with the black and white prints!
Bandana Bibs: I order them off Etsy and think they are much cuter than regular bibs, great to use for drool from teething and are a cute way to accessorize an outfit!
Comotomo Baby Bottle: These bottles weren't around when I had Hudson but they are made of soft BPA-free, medical grade silicone and are supposed to make it easy to transition back and forth from breastfeeding to bottle.
Burp Cloths: You can never have enough burp cloths [great for changing time as well]! I ordered a few organic ones from this Etsy shop and also loved the Aden + Anais Burpy Bibs with H.
Will post recommendations for my favorite baby gear along with Baby Boy's nursery soon - ended up going a little different route from my inspiration post and can't wait to share the final product! XOXO
I'll be 32 weeks on Monday [can't believe how fast it's going this time around!] and I've definitely gone into nesting mode trying to organize everything we have and also figure out what little things are left to prepare for baby boy's arrival. Pictured above are some of my favorite alternatives to the usual diaper bag that could be used after baby as well. If you go with a tote style, I'd recommend getting an organizer insert to put in to keep everything in place. I'll share what bag I'm going to use this time around sometime in the next few weeks and a new post with my diaper bag essentials will be up tomorrow! XOXO

I've also listed a few new items below that I have for sale ... Hope you all have a great weekend! XOXO

This past Saturday my mom and I hosted a baby shower for one of my close friends who is due in just a few weeks! They are waiting to find out if baby is a boy or girl on the big day so the theme was black + white "Bow or Bow Tie"... I had all the ladies wear blue or pink to the shower to cast their vote for what the little one will be! View the invitation on Instagram here. XOXO
