The last weekend before Christmas, can you believe it?! I always love the week leading up to Christmas Day ... it feels extra festive baking, wrapping presents and spending time with friends and family. Tomorrow we are having our annual girl's holiday gift exchange brunch so I will share a few photos from that next week along with our holiday cards and Hudson's room update! Oops, just realizing my Friday post never went through... Labor Day weekend we had some friends over for a wine tasting night which was a lot of fun and a nice excuse to use our wedding crystal! My girlfriends and I have been following The New York Times Wine School Column and red zinfandel was next on our list to try. I wasn't able to find all the wines that were recommended but picked up some substitutes... we tried Predator Old Vines Zinfandel, Ridge Lytton Springs 2011, Frog's Leap 2009 and The Prisoner Saldo. I can honestly say I've never thought to order a glass of zinfandel at a restaurant before our tasting but now I have a new appreciation for it [of the bunch, the Saldo was my favorite!]. Smoothie Recipe: blend together 1 frozen banana, 2 handfuls of organic spinach, 5-6 ice cubes, a spoonful of raw almond butter, splash of vanilla extract, approximately 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk [add more for desired thickness] and honey to taste.

Happy Friday! Lots of last minute preparation for Hudson's party happening over here... can't wait to for it to be all set up! I have been drooling over the Fendi 2Jours for a long time and was very thankful to get one for Christmas. It's definitely more structured and ladylike than some of my other bags but I love that you can wear it cross body and the monogram feature makes it feel extra special.  I also like that the texture of the bag seems like it will be pretty resistant to scratches and stains [a must have feature with a little guy!]. So happy today is Friday even if it happens to land on the 13th [any superstitious people out there?]. I can't believe that Christmas is only 12 days away, the month of December has gone by so fast! This weekend, I'm hoping to finally start The Circle... I bought it awhile ago but haven't had the chance [or time] to sit done and read it. I'm the type of person that once I start a book I need to finish it within a day or two! I've also been using this Dr. Brandt duo and am loving both so far... unfortunately, my skin didn't react well to the Chanel lotions [from this post] so I'm hoping this is a better match for me.
