Gotta Have It: J Brand Houlihan Cargos

I never thought I would tell someone to go buy a pair of cargo pants again but J Brand Houlihan Cargos have made me rethink my rationale. Not only do they flatter a variety of body types- Curvy like Khole. Petite like Rachel. Athletic like Gwen. You get the picture- they also will be a great transition piece, easily going from summer to fall.

Be sure to snag a pair before they sell out again- click here to buy them now and use code "tulip" for 15% off at checkout!

Current Obsession: 3.1 Phillip Lim

Some things never change- Phillip Lim is a complete mastermind! I love everything in the Spring and Summer 2010 collections, hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a few of these for my upcoming (2 months is somewhat upcoming, right?) birthday!

Top row from left to right:
1. Laser-cut silk dress from net-a-porter.com
2. Handmade silk jeweled dress from net-a-porter.com
3. Hairpin lace shift dress (currently sold out online)

Bottom row from left to right:
1. Crochet-bib jersey tank from net-a-porter.com
2. Yellow mesh trimmed silk blend bra from net-a-porter.com
3. Polka dot silk-satin bra from net-a-porter.com
4. Embellished jeweled necklace from blueandcream.com

To satisfy my love in the mean time, my wonderful boss got me this awesome Phillip Lim dress- the perfect little neutral- and I picked up the "Edie" studded bow bag in grey. These will both be put to great use!

Closeup of the stud detail- love it!

San Fran Recap

Had the most wonderful time in San Fran with my college girls.

Rode the trolley.

Biked to Sausalito.

Checked out the buildings.

Went to Fisherman's Warf.

Ventured into China Town.

Went to Lombard Street.

Checked out Castro Street after breakfast at Tartine Bakery.

Took the metro out of Harvey Milk Plaza.

The Japanese Tea Garden was so zen.

Wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Full House!

Best Dressed: 2010 Met Gala

The Metropolitan Museum Of Art Costume Institute Ball is my favorite fashion event of the year- even better than the Oscar's in my opinion. Celebrities, designers, editors and models-basically anyone that has anything to do with fashion- come out in full force to showcase the most fashion forward dresses around and take a lot more risks than usual. This year's theme was "American Woman." Cue Lenny Kravitz's song...

My three favorite dresses: Riley Keough (Elvis' granddaughter) in Thakoon- amazing dress with so much detail. Calvin Klein clad Diane Kruger is timeless to a T. Sienna Miller rocks Emilio Pucci with perfect hair and makeup to match.

Loving Kate Bosworth in Valentino- she always gets it right. Rachel Weisz in Oscar de la Renta looks uber classy and the color is stunning. Rachel Bilson channels a retro feeling in Louis Vuitton.

Emma Roberts in Marni and Elizabeth Banks in Gucci show how polar opposite a little black dress can be. One sophisticated, one funky, both looks totally fun.

The Models: Jessica Stam in Rachel Roy, Bar Refaeli in Rag & Bone and Amber Valletta- all beyond gorgeous but that's a given.

If You're Going To San Francisco...

Headed to San Fran for the weekend, yay! Be back Sunday with an update, until then I leave you with these...

Some gorgeous sweet peas and roses from my Mom's garden to brighten up my room.

The Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges- freaking amazing in person! They go with pretty much everything, I would definitely suggest getting a pair if you can find them.

My Sister Is Better Than Martha...

My sister is quite possibly the best party planner I know- she worked on my niece's and nephew's 4th birthday for months and it turned out perfectly!

The centerpieces for the cheerleading/sports party.

Megaphone station for the girls.

Luke's cake.

Charlotte's cake.

The "concession" stand of goodies.

Baseball cupcakes.

Pom-pom cupcakes.

Even the water bottles were personalized!

Party favors for the girls and boys (I might have snuck one for myself...).
