Happy Halloween

On Saturday we hosted a Halloween party complete with homemade candy corn jello shots and glitter pumpkins!  I went as the Black Swan and made my costume with my Mom's help- what are you dressing up as this year?

Inspiration: My Niece's "Thriller" Birthday Party

One of my nieces had her birthday party last week and it was "Thriller" themed.  My sister went all out, as usual, and put a lot of thought into the details to throw her a perfect party!

Recipe: Nordstrom Tomato Basil Soup

The ingredients... carrots, who knew?!

On Sunday I decided to cook something for dinner for the hubby and was having a craving for some warm soup.  After a few searches, I came across this recipe for Tomato Basil Soup inspired by the one served in the Nordstrom Cafe.  An accompanying grilled cheese was a must (the secret trick is to hand grate the cheese instead of using slices.  I used sharp cheddar and pepper jack on sourdough bread).  Enjoy!

Inspiration: My Cousin's Engagement Party

My cousin recently got engaged and this past weekend we attended an engagement party at his fiance's beautiful home in Temecula.  The dessert table (along with everything else) was so adorable I just had to share- love all the little details!

Makeup Forever HD Foundation: I'm color 127 in the summer and color 120 in the winter and like to add a drop to my tinted moisturizer during the day.

Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parfum: I've been wearing this since 7th grade!

Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Wash: I use this every morning and then follow up with Kate Somerville Nourish Moisturizer.

Clarisonic Replacement Brush Heads in Senstive: I use my Clarisonic brush at night to take off all of my makeup and really deep clean my skin before applying my night serums and creams.

New Products To Test:

Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer in 3.0: I have been loyal to my Cleu De Peau concealer for a long time now and while the tube lasts for forever I was starting to feel like it disappeared too soon after applying.  I saw this in a magazine recommended by makeup artist Joyce Bonelli and thought I'd give it a shot.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina (color not shown): The color was the perfect natural pink in the store and it seemed like it would be a good and quick alternative to lipstick/gloss.

Benefit Yes They're Real! Mascara: I'm a huge mascara junkie so I really hope that this lives up to all the hype it's gotten.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey: I think this was the first lip product I ever used and thought I'd retry it for the upcoming holiday season.
